Assembles easy and works great

Was not to hard to assemble. Instructions were clear and didn't require too much extra effort to get to work. I attached the tabletop without having to pre drill holes for the screws and seems sturdy enough.

Working from Home - Create your Office Setup

If you’re finding yourself working from home more in recent weeks and trying to maintain productivity, you’ll want to keep reading because this article is for you!

While the already increasing work-from-home trend just escalated for businesses nationwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people who have never needed home offices before are finding themselves needing just that, and maintaining productivity isn’t always an easy task.

Dealing with distractions, strategically planning, practicing time management, and connecting with coworkers are all important factors in working effectively from home. But there’s another vital element that can change your whole experience for the better...finding the right tools for your work space.

Having the right equipment can make the difference between a sufficient work space and a strategic work space. Set yourself up for success by creating a workstation that’s comfortable, ergonomic, process-oriented, organized, and space-efficient.

What does a Pro Workstation like this look like?

Let’s review some popular items that others have found to be game changers in their working from home experience:

Let’s Build Your Office Setup!

We know that different home offices have different needs. For example, some may require a mobile workstation while others may warrant a large desk setup sans the wheels. So we’ll cover different types of desks, and then accessories that can go with any style of workstation.

Compact Office Desk

You may have already guessed it, but this 43 inch computer desk is both space-efficient for smaller work areas and features a folding design for easy storage when not in use. Perfect for people who only work from home occasionally and don’t have the space to permanently house an office desk.

Single Tier Desktop Riser

Transform nearly any type of desk that you have into a standing desk with this 29 inch single top height adjustable desk converter! Finding a healthy balance between sitting and standing throughout the day can break up the monotony and help you stay focused!

Dual Tier Desktop Riser

Similar to previous desk riser, this popular riser sits on your current desk and makes it height adjustable. But this desk converter features two tiers, so you can put your monitor and laptop on the top surface and your keyboard and mouse on the lower surface. The result? Ergonomic viewing and typing angles for all day comfort!

Mobile Workstation

When it comes to a compact workstation on wheels, this product has you covered! It’s great for those in studio apartments who need a small desk. Both mobile and height adjustable, you can take this 28 inch laptop cart to any room in your house for a flexible work setup.

So far, we’ve covered small workstations for space-efficient solutions, but you may have plenty of space and want a sturdy, height adjustable desk that’s able to hold all your equipment and give you the freedom to stand throughout the day.

Electric Standing Desk

Give yourself a real office feel right in your own home, and easily adjust the height with the frame’s powerful motor that lets you transition from sitting to standing at the press of a button. Who said you had to be stuck in your office chair all day?

Seat Cushions

If you don’t want to invest in a new office chair, there’s a way to bring comfort to your not-so-comfortable seat. This memory foam seat bottom and back cushion combo are designed for maximum comfort, so you can sit for all the time you need without getting sore.

Monitor Riser

Maybe you already have a standing desk, or you’re happy with your regular desk. Many people still face the need to raise their monitor so the screen is at eye level. A cost-effective way to do this is with a monitor riser like this one. Not only can you raise the screen to a more comfortable height, you can also organize your desk with the added storage space underneath the riser.

Laptop Stand

Maybe you work from a laptop and need something that raises it to an ergonomic position so you can say goodbye to neck pain. This trendy notebook riser not only lifts your screen to a comfortable viewing height... It also features an adjustable angle for typing comfort.

Single Monitor Mount

If you need a sturdy, space-saving monitor setup that lifts your 13 to 27 inch screen and provides articulation, this stand is for you! Featuring a sturdy C-clamp and integrated cable management, this fully adjustable stand gives you endless positions and angles for optimal screen placement.

Well, there you have it!

Finding the desk type that you need with a monitor stand or mount that works with your setup goes a long way to making your home office setup ready for some serious productivity.

We hope your work-from-home experience is a good one, and these tools can help make it even better!

Cable management on arm of monitor mount

3 Tips for Efficient Cable Management

So you’ve finally decided to buckle down and untangle the Gordian knot beneath your desk that are your computer cables. Before you take a page out of Alexander the Great’s book and chop the whole thing in half (don’t worry if you don’t get the reference… just know your cable organization needs help!), read these tips we’ve compiled to help you avoid some common mistakes and make your cable management process as smooth as possible.

Tip 1: Measure your cables

Probably the most overlooked aspect of planning out cable management is making sure all your cords are long enough. A five foot HDMI cable might seem long enough when you purchase it-  after all, your monitor is never going to be more than five feet away from your PC -but that’s assuming the cable is going to take a direct route.

In reality, to keep your cables organized, they need to zigzag across monitor arms and under your desk before they finally reach the proper port. Cables being way too long can cause issues too, so measure the routes along your desk that each cable needs to take so you can purchase the proper length. This simple step of having the proper sized cables will go a long way towards making your cords more manageable.

Tip 2: Zip ties and twist ties and cable clips oh my!

You’ve planned out where your cables are going, measured how long they need to be, and have your cables purchased and ready. This is where things can get messy- if you don’t have the right tools on hand to bind the cables together.

Luckily, there are a few different options for this, and you’re likely to have at least one of them already in your house. Twist ties or zip ties are the simplest ways to bind your cables together and keep them from getting tangled up again. If you’re looking for something a little cleaner and more optimized, you can get special clips or even a cable management sleeve to keep your cables from straying apart.

Tip 3: Hang it up

After you have your cables all plugged in and bound together, there’s only one thing left to do: Get those cables off the floor! Not only does having a line of cables trailing across the floor look terrible, it can also be a hazard if anything catches on them. It’s best to get those cables tucked away and mounted to the bottom of your desk.

There are several ways to do this. If you have a VIVO height adjustable desk, it’s likely you already have a cable management rack attached to your desk frame. If you don’t have this, you can get one separately to install under your desk - we suggest the IKEA SIGNUM. If you’re not looking to purchase a cable management rack, check your power strip- those often have a built in way to mount  under your desk.

If you have a more complicated array of cables, it might be easier to get a desk skirt that hides the clutter. These mount to the back side of your desk and give you a huge pocket to hide your cable management, keeping the floor under your desk clean and hazard-free.

Organizing your cables can seem like a very daunting task. These tips should give you a good jumping off point and keep you from making some common mistakes. Getting your cord game cleaned up isn’t fun, but it doesn’t have to be hard! And trust us, once you’re done, you’ll be glad you did it.

Electric Standing Desk vs. Standing Desk Riser - Which One is Right for You?

It has become abundantly clear that the standing desk revolution is more than just a passing fad.  Staying active throughout your workday by switching between sitting and standing has tangible health benefits that improve productivity and overall work satisfaction. If you’re looking into upgrading your workstation to access these advantages, you may already know that there are two prevailing options for achieving this.

The first is the traditional Sit-To-Stand Desk. This is just like a normal desk, except the frame can be extended or retracted up and down, allowing you to easily switch between sitting and standing no matter your height, taking your entire work space with you.

The second option has become very popular in the last few years. It’s the Desk Riser system, which goes on top of your existing desk and allows you to adjust the height of the main part of your workstation. These come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and mechanisms to fit all sorts of work space needs.

But which of these solutions are right for you? We’ve put together a list of pros and cons for each of these options to make it easy for you to decide which will work best for your situation.

Standing Desks

Pros

  • Lifts Your Entire Work Space - The biggest advantage of getting a Standing Desk is that it’s completely cohesive - It lifts your entire work space in unison, on a single level. This also means you have a lot more desk space to work with, giving you plenty of room to stretch out.
  • Ultra Compatible - Because it’s essentially just a normal desk (albeit with a great design feature that allows and encourages an active and healthy lifestyle) most accessories that are compatible with other desks will transfer over seamlessly to your standing desk. These are things like monitor desk mounts, keyboard trays, or PC mounts. There are also some great accessories that are designed to be used with Standing Desks specifically, like this vertebrae cable management kit.

Cons

  • Expensive - We’ll cut right to the chase- Standing Desks can be expensive. There are definitely some more affordable options out there, especially if you’re willing to sacrifice motorized capability and get a manually adjustable desk, but Desk Risers will always have cheaper options than full Standing Desks. If your budget is highly restrictive, getting a standing desk probably isn’t your best option, and you’d be better off going with a different solution.
  • Can Be Difficult To Assemble - Depending on what model you purchase, Standing Desks can require some assembly know how. Don’t be scared off too quickly though- we make our manuals as easy to follow as possible, and we also make helpful assembly videos for most of our products. So if you’re not sure if a particular product will be too difficult for you, check to see what it’s like to assemble; it might be simpler than you think.

Desk Risers

Pros

  • More Affordable Option - Part of what made Desk Risers so popular since they hit the market is their price; most models are significantly cheaper than comparable full Standing Desk options. If you’re looking to save even more money and you don’t care for the dual tier design of the standard Desk Riser, single tier designs tend to be even cheaper.
  • Easy To Set Up - Most Desk Risers can be ready within 5 minutes of unboxing - some don’t require any assembly whatsoever. If you’re looking for something that will get up and running with an active work space with the least amount of work possible, Desk Risers are the way to go.

Cons

  • Small Work Space - This isn’t necessarily a huge deal depending on how you use your desk space during a typical workday. But if you’re someone who needs access to their whole desk space, whether you’re sitting or standing, or just need a lot of desk real estate in general, you’re likely to find working with a Desk Riser frustrating and inefficient.
  • Not As Compatible - While there are monitor mounts and other accessories designed specifically for desk risers, you’re going to end up with significantly less options than you would with a normal Standing Desk. If you’re someone who keeps their desk setup simple, just a computer, a monitor or two, a keyboard, and a mouse, then, this won’t be a problem for you. But if you’re one of the many who likes to accessorize their space to fit their specific needs, you may find Desk Risers very restricting.

Summary

Overall, while full Standing Desks are a bigger investment, they’re just that- an investment. They’re more substantial in size, convenience, and compatibility. But if you’re looking for something quick and cheap to set up right away, whether it’s because time and money are tight or because you’re not sure whether it’s worth the investment yet, a Desk Riser is almost certainly the best option. Remember, diving into using an active work space is always a good long term choice for your health, so whichever you end up choosing, you’re well on your way to a happier, healthier lifestyle.
